From Udaipur's lakes to the dunes of Jaisalmer, Rajasthan is India at its most cinematic. A route through the land of kings.
No Indian state wears its history quite like Rajasthan. Every city is a chapter — and every fort, palace, and stepwell a paragraph in a story of kings, caravans, and craftsmanship.
Lakes and light: Udaipur
Begin in Udaipur, where palaces seem to float on Lake Pichola and rooftop cafes catch the gold of the setting sun. It is the gentlest introduction to Rajasthani grandeur.
The blue and the gold
Jodhpur, the Blue City, sprawls beneath the towering Mehrangarh Fort. Further west, Jaisalmer rises from the Thar Desert like a sandcastle that refused to fall — best experienced on a camel safari ending with dinner under the stars.
Close the loop in Jaipur, the Pink City, where bazaars overflow with block-printed textiles, gemstones, and the scent of street-side jalebi.
